Kern Halls is the owner and founder of Ingenious Culinary Concepts, a foodservice company that specializes in school foodservice programs. Kern started his culinary training in the United States Navy as a culinary specialist. From 1993 to 2001, he was awarded with five culinary awards and nominated to the White House Foodservice Staff.

Ingenious Culinary Concepts was born out of Kern’s desire to provide healthy and delicious meals to students across the country. Today, Ingenious Culinary Concepts is one of the leading school foodservice companies, thanks in large part to Kern’s dedication and expertise.

Kern is also a keynote and motivational speaker.

Specialized experience in leading multi-unit food and beverage operations within entertainment, education, and concession space. Inspires cross-functional teams, service staff, and culinary experts to achieve high performance in fast-paced, high-volume environments. Pilots facility transformations and modernization projects enhancing dining experiences. Provides strategic consultation to executive teams, business leaders, and food service managers delivering strategic planning and project lifecycle completion improving food service operations and achieving greater profitability.

Prior to ICC I worked for Orange County Public Schools (OCPS) as a 7th & 8th grade English teacher. I later transitioned to OCPS’ district office (as a teacher coach then administrator) to support secondary schools in their college & career-readiness efforts for students.

Dream Destination: Bora Bora (an Island in the French Polynesia)

Mr. Kabani has over 7 years' extensive experience of account and project management in the digital realm and is a resourceful Technology Partner for Ingenious Culinary Concepts.

When we launched our business and dove into the educational nutrition services industry, we started small — literally. Our suggestions to schools were as simple as “keeping hot food hot, and cold food cold.” The results we saw were phenomenally progressive.
