Setting Up 2014 School Foodservice Goals

Setting Up 2014 School Foodservice Goals

As we begin the New Year, it’s a great time to reassess what worked well for us throughout the first half of the year, and consider new ideas and goals for the second half! Don’t worry if you haven’t already set your goals, it’s not too late!

We are coming out of halftime for the school year and have approximately six months remaining to win or lose our current and possibly new customers. Therein lies the challenge for school foodservice professionals. Everyone must capture or maintain their customer’s attention.

As school resumes you should have several new products or promotions for students to consider. They have been on break for a long time and are ready to explore new and exciting options in the cafeteria.

Connect with food brokers and manufacturers for showcasing new products and services they can now provide that you may not have considered in the past. We have to let our customers (students) know they are our top priority and we want to offer them the options that will bring them to the table on a regular basis and fulfill new trends and product availability.

So get ready to put your best foot forward and show your customers how much you care about catering to them!

Kern Halls, School Foodservice Consultant and Chief Innovator of Ingenious Culinary Concepts, turns empty dining halls into gold mines of student activity! By seeking out and combining just the right “ingredients” to accomplish what many call impossible: Halls gets students to “want” to dine in your cafeterias!
